Cagbalete Island is one of the best tourist destinations in the Quezon Province. Located in the Lamon Bay fronting the Pacific Ocean, a paradise that will hook you up with its marine diversity, flora, fauna and incredible wave of sands during the lowtide.
Cagbalete Island is located in Mauban Quezon. You can reach first the town through Lucena bound bus in Cubao, Buendia and Alabang. Lucena Liner, Jam Transit, Jac Liner are some of the bus company that offer a ride going to Lucena, Quezon.
From the Lucena Terminal, take a mini bus to Mauban that takes almost two hours of travel time. In the Mauban town, look for the port where passenger boats going to Cagbalete is located. Just to remind everyone, trips are scheduled from 10am to 4pm daily. The boats can ferry up to 50 persons. Don’t be afraid if you think the boat is overload if you see the size of the boat and the no. of passengers and baggage loaded on it. Even me, I was so shocked and scared when I saw the mode of transportation going to the island. It really looks overloaded. Our group prayed the whole trip. This is the scariest part of my adventure to Cagabelete because you're passing along the Pacific ocean with small boats jum-packed of tourists and locals plus lots of baggage. The drop off point is on southern part of the island where the resorts Villa Cleofas and MVT. Sto Nino are located.
For the accommodation, tourists can stay in three known resorts on the southern part of the island- Villa Cleofas, MVT Sto. Niño Beach Resor and Pansacola Beach Resort. They have rooms and open cottages available fronting the big oceans. You can also bring your own tent or rent it in the resort pay a certain fees. Just like we did, we brought our own tents and pitched it in front of the beach.
Cagbalete Island is such a paradise. The blue-water is so clean and it’s surrounded by the white sands. With the abundance of the unique species of plants, Cagbalete is the place for all nature lovers.
The best part of this island is the river connecting to the ocean. That is the first time I saw the fusion of water from the river and salt water from the ocean. Is that amazing..lol.
The Adventure in Cagbalete is very unforgettable with the jam-packed of passengers in boat, cowboy friends, beautiful ocean, magnificent shorelines and a lot more.
