The Majestic of Kabigan Falls in Ilocos Norte

Kabigan Falls in Ilocos Norte is the highest waterfalls that I’ve seen so far on my adventure. It is located at the eastern part of Barangay Balaoi which is also part the town of Pagudpud.

Kabigan Falls, Ilocos Norte

Before we can see the magnificent falls, we need to pay 50 Pesos/person for the entrance fee at the jump-off point. The fee includes a local guide that will bring us to the falls. Even there is a visible trail going to the falls, you'll still need a tour guide just to be safe.

Balay Ti lli Marcos Museum & Mausoleum and Malacanang of the North

When you say Ilocos province, the Marcos family comes first in my mind. I’m sure everyone knows they are the most powerful and influential family in the country on their time.

My adventure to Ilocos will be completed if there's a visit tour in the Balay Ti illi Marcos Museum & Mausoleum and Malacanang of the North.

The Balay Ti lli Marcos Museum & Mausoleum is located in the town of Batac Ilocos. The town is also called as Marcos Town. Balay Ti lli is the President Ferdinand Marcos' ancestral house and it's off limits to the public.

The Baroque Style of the Paoay Church

One of the best and oldest churches that I consider very appealing to my eyes is the Roman Catholics parish church of the municipality of Paoay in Ilocos Norte- the Paoay Church.

Paoay Church also known as St. Augustine Church is a unique combination of Baroque, Gothic, and Oriental designs. It is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site as one best examples of the Baroque Churches of the Philippines.

With the Cape Bojeador Lighthouse of Burgos in Ilocos Norte

Included on the north tour given by our tricycle driver was the trip to Cape Bojeador lighthouse ( also known as Burgos Lighthouse), a cultural heritage structure in Burgos, Ilocos Norte. It is known for being the highest lighthouse in the Philippines.

Going to Cape Bojeador lighthouse is very accessible. It is 40 km. north from Laoag City, capital of Ilocos Norte. We passed by through a two-lane narrow concrete road that starts from the Maharlika Highway in Brgy. Paayas, Burgos.

Paoay Sand Dunes goes to the EXTREME!

Most of us didn’t know there is a landscape in the Philippines that is a favorite destination not just of tourists, but of sandboarders and surfers- the Paoay Sand Dunes.

Paoay Sand Dunes is an 85-hectare spread of sand and wild landscape covering to both municipalities of Currimao and Pasuquin in Ilocos Norte. Just few minutes of walking, you will see the beautiful beach of Suba.  I really can’t imagine how the hill of sands built in this place. It' really amazing.

The Picturesque of Bangui Windmills

One of the famous tourist destinations in Ilocos Norte that I will never forget to visit on my trip is the wind farm in Bangui- the Bangui Windmills.

Base on my research online (naks!), the Bangui windmills is the first “Wind Farm” in the Philippines, a project by the NorthWind Development Corporation. It was created to help reducing the greenhouse gases that cause global warming. A total of 15 windmills stand on shores, capable of producing electric power to provide electricity to some parts of the Ilocos Norte.
