The Picturesque of Bangui Windmills

One of the famous tourist destinations in Ilocos Norte that I will never forget to visit on my trip is the wind farm in Bangui- the Bangui Windmills.

Base on my research online (naks!), the Bangui windmills is the first “Wind Farm” in the Philippines, a project by the NorthWind Development Corporation. It was created to help reducing the greenhouse gases that cause global warming. A total of 15 windmills stand on shores, capable of producing electric power to provide electricity to some parts of the Ilocos Norte.

Would you believe these beautiful structures supply electricity to 40% of Ilocos Norte province, which the first source of clean energy introduced in the Phillipines..Is that amazing?

Far away from the area, the windmills look like my toy when I was in grade school. I’m sure you also created a mini-fan using paper (like intermediate pad) and put it on a stick. After that, you placed this (looks like) elisi in-front of the electric fan. Do you still remember that?

The Bangui Windmills are spread across a 6.5 km stretch or about 236 meters of the grey sand beach, facing the South China Sea. These structures are really indeed beautiful. It’s just like a “Big Giant Electricfan”  with a moving big wind turbines. I'm getting back being a young kid while looking this fan.. hehe

Anyway, taking photos is another must-do in this place. What I advice to you guys, the best time to go in Bangui Windmills is before sunset where you get an awesome sunset sky. You will definitely love doing photoshoot here.

What I'm wearing: aztec sando from one of the stores in Farmers, Cubao,  green short from Bizaare, watch from Spyder, shades and bracelet from SM Accessories, and shoes from Converse shoes:

Bangui Windmills is one of a kind creations.  Before, I just know these 15 windmills can only supply electricity to the people residing near the area.  But now, it's also a big help in the tourism of our country. Hope you can visit this beautiful place. And always remember, "It's More in the Philippines."

  1. Dude, your title is grammatically incorrect. Picturesque is not a noun, it's an adjective. :p
