Divisoria is the best shopping destination in Philippines during the holiday season. It’s a market district in the heart of the City of Manila, known for affordable goods and wholesale and bargain shopping.
Last Dec 23, I visited Divisoria to buy gifts for my loved ones. I know for a fact this place is super jam-packed during the holiday season. All the people are going here to find low priced goods. "Tawad here! Tawad there!" Everyone really wants to get the cheaper price of everything. It’s also stressful going here because traffic is almost everywhere.
In Divisoria, you can find “everything under the sun” like clothes, shoes, accessories, mobile phones and its accessories, toys, slippers, pirated movies and music, electronics, school and household supplies, fabrics, crafts, giveaways, souvenirs and among others. This place is really a mecca of value shopping.
Divisoria has no specific address. It touches different parts of the city including Binondo, Tondo and San Nicolas. The greater Divisoria area is bisected by Claro M. Recto Avenue. The market stretches from Jose Abad Santos Avenue up to Asuncion Street and Claro M. Recto Avenue. There are also various shops and stalls along Juan Luna, Santo Cristo, Soler, Tabora, and Ylaya.
How to get to Divisoria:
Divisoria is accessible by taking the MRT or LRT-2. From cubao, take LRT 2 going to Recto and drop off at the last station Recto. There are jeepneys are waiting along in Rizal avenue also known as Avenida, which ply the Divisoria route.
If you’re from Monumento or Taft, take the LRT-1 and drop off to Doroteo Jose. There are jeepneys along Avenida which going to Divisoria.
There are also jeepneys and FXs from Taft Avenue, Monumento and España which ply the Divisoria route.
Near the Divisoria, you can find also various shopping malls namely Tutuban Center Mall, Divisoria Mall, 168 Mall, 999 Mall and Lucky China Mall. These shopping malls cater bargain hunters who are also looking for affordable goods.
Tropa, please be careful everytime you go to Divisoria. There are lots of snatchers and pick pocket around the area. There are also many modus operandi that you must be aware of, so at least you can prevent being scammed. It's advisable not to bring your expensive mobile phones or any gadgets as well with your jewelries. Please immediately report to the police in case it happened to you.
So guys, enjoy this holiday season and share your blessings to everyone. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
