When someone says Quiapo, the Feast of the Black Nazarene or Pista ng Itim na Nazareno is the first thing that comes to my head. Last year (2013) I attended this religious event and I witnessed millions of devotees that showed their great devotion to the Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno. Everybody wants to hold the rope and touch the miraculous image. Some of them became unconscious and others got minor injuries like bruises, scratches, among others.
The Feast Black Nazarene or Pista ng Itim na Nazareno is held every 9th of January. It's annual event in the Philippines, where millions of devotees joined the “Traslacion” or the transfer of the image of Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno from Luneta Grandstand to its shrine in Quiapo Church, Manila. It's considered the most attended fiesta in Metro Manila.
Schedule of activities for next year (2015) is not yet released. Last year, the gathering was started on the 7th of January. On the next day was a vigil at the Quirino Grandstand (Luneta), Mass Healing Service, and kissing of the replica (Pahalik). On the 9th of January, there's another vigil that started from 12MN to 4AM followed by the Holy Mass and Traslacion of the Black Nazarene to Quiapo. Church.
This post will be updated as soon the official schedule activities comes out.
