Quezon's Pahiyas Festival 2016 Schedule of Activities

Our friends from Lucban in Quezon province celebrate annually their biggest festival called Pahiyas Festival. They celebrated this colorful event every 5th of May in honor of their patron saint, San Isidro Labrador.



Pahiyas Festival is one of the colorful festival in the Philippines. It's a celebration of locals to give thanks for a bountiful harvest. It features parade of floats, street dancing, concerts, and parade of carabao.

The main event is the called Timpalak Pahiyas. It's a competition for the best ornamented house. Participants decorated their homes with fruits, vegetables, and colorful "KIPING", which are made of rice wafers, often shaped like leaves.

Pahiyas Festival 2016 Schedule of Activities:

May 15th (Sunday)

At 6 o'clock in the start of the holy mass in San Isidro Labrador Church. Followed the procession which will take  along Pahiyas Route.

On the same day, tourist will witness the Timpalak Pahiyas, Grand Parade and  Timpalak Pahiyas Kutitap which  showcases the best light designs and beautiful fireworks display

May 16th (Monday)

 May 19th (Thursday)

How to get to Lucban by Bus or public transportation

There are buses that offer Manila-Lucena route and Manila -Sta. Cruz route. Bus terminals are located in EDSA kaEDSA-Kamuning in Quezon City, Araneta Center in Cubao, Buendia-Taft Avenues and EDSA in Pasay City. From Lucena or Sta. Cruz, take jeep or mini bus that will take you to Lucban.

There are cheap hotel, hostel and inn available in the town of Lucban. Please be advised  to book as early now to avoid the hustle in finding room accommodation .
